Our agency is looking for a reliable, safety-focused Water Distribution Operator to help deliver clean, safe, and reliable drinking water to our community.
This is a hands-on role where your work directly protects public health and supports essential services.
What You’ll Do
- Operate, maintain, and repair water distribution systems, including pipelines, valves, hydrants, and meters
- Monitor system performance to ensure safe and consistent water delivery
- Respond to service calls, leaks, and emergencies
- Perform routine inspections, flushing, and maintenance activities
- Read meters and support water quality compliance efforts
- Keep accurate records to meet state reporting and regulatory requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Valid California Water Distribution Operator certification (Grade level based on position)
- Knowledge of safe work practices and basic mechanical skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to public service and teamwork
Compliance and Safety
- All work must meet California Division of Drinking Water requirements
- Position follows Cal/OSHA safety standards and agency safety policies
