A resident of Landers for 13- years, Mr. Boyer notes that my wife and I fell in love with the Hi-Desert a dozen years ago when we moved out here. Since then, visiting relatives have also moved into the area. Children and grandchildren now come by with some regularity. We’ve held our annual family reunion—“The Boyerthon”—out here for several years. In short, this isn’t just my home anymore. It’s my family’s home. It isn’t just about my life. It’s about my descendants as well… I wanted to do my part in insuring that this will be a place worth living in for those who come after me.”
While claiming to be, “…motivated to do the best job possible as a Board Member… and be a full-time student of the Agency’s operations,” Boyer brings some impressive skill-sets of his own to BDVWA’s leadership team, as well. Aside from holding a life membership with Mensa International (Arlington, TX), he has spent a career as a Manager in Human Resources comprising a comprehensive tool box working with management and administration, labor laws, policy development, and budgeting, to name just a few. All these people and business skills were built and honed on a foundational college degree in Psychology. Add to that, Boyer thrives on problem solving, thinking outside of the box, and team collaborations.
After Rod Miller-Boyer took his Oath of Public Office, he stated, “I intend to become an effective advocate for what is perhaps the broadest common ground we can have out here in the desert—sustainable supplies of quality water at reasonable rates.”
