Judy Corl-Lorono is a community leader known for her work with the Salvation Army to managing its Yucca Valley thrift store as well as running a free food distribution program in Palm Desert. Her years working in the hotel and hospitality industry inform her community service and her steadfast commitment to helping others.
Judy moved to the high desert area in 2001 and has served on the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency since 2018. She says of her service on the water agency board: “We are blessed to have something many communities don’t have… good clean ground water. It is our duty to preserve and protect our water for today and in the future for our children and grandchildren.” Her focus is on learning about water issues in the state and community.
Born in Red Bluff, California, Judy is a mom to three wonderful children. She lived with them in Hawaii from 1979 to 1981. She is “Grammy” to seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Currently, Judy is raising her 16-year-old granddaughter. She and her family love to camp and fish, and her travel adventures have taken her to Israel and Jordan. Service to her community has been a major part of her life.
